LEARNING ABOUT AUTHORS

I have recently read a website that follows the Australian author James Roy, here's what I thought about the web site and other things about authors that I like.

1. The site has many pictures for the readers to look at and is quite colourful which makes it much more interesting to read.

2.James Roy's website does not have anything about what made him want to become an author where as LM Fuge's website describes how she became an author.

3.Two authors I think have really different styles are J.K Rowling and Chris Wooding because Chris Wooding isn't as descriptive writer as J.K Rowling but he gets to the point faster while still having books that are a good length and still make sense and are enjoyable to read. Rowling's books are fantasy while the books I have read by Wooding are more horror related.

4.I recently tracked down the author of the book I'm currently reading. It is Chris Wooding's website and according to the website he was born in Leicester Britain. He wrote his first novel when he was sixteen  and by the time he was nineteen he had his first book deal signed. Chris has written sixteen books that have been translated into 20 different languages.

Think About Your Reading Experiences

1. My most Favorite place to read is in my bed lying on my comfiest pillow It's so relaxing to just lie in bed and do nothing but reading and breathing.

2. A particular time of day i find reading the most enjoyable is right before bed

3. My favorite authors are J.K Rowling, Akira Toriyama, Kiyohiko Azuma, and Chris Wooding. I like these authors because there really imaginative and have good stories in there books. Ive enjoyed all of the titles (that I've read) From these authors.

4. I don't really recommend these authors to people because i don't really think many people will like them.

Danbo the robot (story based on a picture part 2)

"Pass the ball," yelled Fred as his friend kicked the soccer ball to him. The ball flew threw the air it was almost a blur. Fred lunged to catch the ball it would have looked amazing if Fred had caught it but alas he didn't. Fred hit the ground with a "THUD" and the ball rolled under the demountable building they were using as a barrier. "Good one!" yelled Fred's friend Bob. "Don't worry I'll go get it". Fred got to his knees and commando crawled along the ground in the direction of the ball. BOOM!!. An explosion nearly took Fred's head off. Fred looked around for the sauce of the explosion, then he saw it a tiny robot that looked like it was made of cardboard was fighting a ferocious looking monster, "ARGHHH!" screamed Fred as the monster turned to look at him. It opened it's mouth to reveal large sharp teeth. The monster lunged at Fred it's mouth covering Fred's head Than swallowing him whole. The little robot was angry at this and he pointed his arm at the monster. His hand retracted and a blue orb started to form where the hand used to be. The robot fired. The orb flew towards the monster colliding with his face for a moment it looked like the orb was smashing but than in a blinding flash of light there was a large explosion. The demountable in which the monster, the robot and where Fred used to be blew sky high and exploded once it hit the ground. Fred's friend screamed and ran away as the monster appeared in front of him. The little robot jumped in front of the monster and punched it hard in the face. The monster was knocked to the ground. The robot who I'll now tell you is called Danbo a robot from Japan. Danbo's name is a pun from a company in Japan called Danbooru a company that makes cardboard boxes. Danbo turned around to look at the monster who was gagging or something like that.
Than to Danbo's amazement Fred was coughed out of the monster's mouth. Fred was covered in slime and was bleeding badly from the monsters teeth but still he had enough energy to get up and run away. Now Danbo was ready he could fight without having to worry about Fred. Danbo charged at the monster and the monster lunged at Danbo. The real fight was about to begin.

The Little Girls Day (story based on a picture)

One morning a little girl was lying in her bed, well.... kind of. she was half on it and the covers had been thrown of the futon. she opened her eyes and looked around. then she remembered what day it was. she turned and stood over her dad who was still asleep and hit him in the face. "ow, What was that for"? asked the little girls dad "WAKE UP!" yelled the little girl. " I'M UP!" yelled the dad "WHY DID YOU WAKE ME UP". "BECAUSE WERE SUPPOSED TO GO TO THE SHOP TODAY!" replied the little girl "WE DID THAT YESTERDAY!" and the dad slapped the little girl across the head. "WHY DID YOU HIT ME?" "because you hit me"

Later the little girl was playing with her blocks while the dad was sitting at a computer when the door bell rang. "Who's that!?" yelled the girl as she jumped up and ran to the door. "It's jumbo daddy". the little girl opened the door where jumbo was standing. jumbo was huge i mean it he was probably 10 feet tall. " Hey Jumbo guess what!" said the little girl "what?" asked jumbo. "Daddy's taking me to the shops today" "I've already told you we went to the shop yesterday." The little girl turned around and slapped her dad in the stomach. "OW!" exclaimed the dad as he hit the little girl across the head again."you're mean!" yelled the little girl as she ran away. " and i expect you to have ice-cream for me when i get back.

And so when the little girl got back there was no ice-cream for her but her dad and jumbo where both eating one so she reached out and knocked her dad's ice cream over

Electronic Literature

I have just been on a website called "Inanimate Alice," which is a website where you read a type of E literature about a girl named Alice and you have to click different things to continue with the story. There are a few questions that I have to answer which will be done now.

1. I did not like this kind of e literature I found it rather strange.
2.There is one part where you have to find all the flowers this idea would be attractive to younger readers.
3.A disadvantage of E literature would be that you can't take it wherever you want but you can take a book anywhere.
4.I think it's quite different to normal reading because normal reading does not let you interact with the story.
5.I've only come across one different type of literature which is when the book is scanned and can be read online.
6.I prefer normal reading to this type because there's not as many things going on at once.

The Design of the Novel's Front Cover

The front cover for the novel Malice is quite unlike other novels I've seen the pictures quite literally jump out at you. This was something that I really liked about this novel and was one of the factors that made me want to read it.

The "Blurb" on the Back Cover

The book I'm reading at the moment "Malice" has a rather short blurb but it really gets the reader interested. It starts of with the words, "Tall Jake... Take me Away." When I first read this I instantly started thinking, "who's tall Jake?" So I picked up the book and started reading it. The blurb doesn't tell you much about whats going to happen but I thought it was a good idea because a boy enters Malice to save his friend (that's in the blurb) but his friend dies so Seth must forget about his friend and find away to defeat tall Jake, so something like this will never happen again. I can't really think of another blurb for this book which won't give away what happens in the book but if you do have any idea just leave a comment.

What's in a Title?

Taking into acount what my book is at the moment (Malice) I believe that it's the perfect title for this book. The book is about a horrible place called Malice which is also in a horrible comic also called Malice. Even though it's such a simple title I believe that it's the best title for this book.

I've thought of two alternative titles for this book but I don't think they're as good as the real title. The title's that I thought of were:
         'Tall Jake's Horrible World' and
          'The Horrid Comic of Malice'.

If you can think of a better title for this book just leave a comment.

Malice

Malice is a fantastic book about a place called malice which is inside a horrible comic. The main characters Seth and Kady start of believing that it's just some stupid rumor but after there friend goes missing it doe sound so fake anymore. Seth and Kady steal the comic book called malice and see there friend luke eaten by monsters. Seth performs the ritual to be tacken away to malice. seth is then tacken to malice and must fight past horrible monsters like chitters (little robotic monkeys that drain the time out of someone) to make it back to the train that can take him anywhere and discover how to stop tall jake. This book is great and is part novel part comic. author Chris Wooding.
